BRAHMA CATTLE
Florida is the biggest producer of beef cattle in the South-East. The half-wild woods cou
of the early days was a scrawny creature, tough as leather. Later Brahma bulls were im-
ported from India, lordly hump-backed cattle, thriving in heat and immune to ticks. Cross-
breeding with the woods cow and later with heavy beef cattle has produced an excellent
new strain. Experiments have been made with new grasses and with the use of citrus culls
and molasses, by-products of the citrus and sugar industries, as fodder. The results in fatten-
ing cattle have been excellent
