In asking you to contribute to the
work of the Children's Aid Association, I want
to tell you about one of the girls whom we have
helped.
"Jane"
came to us four years ago from
She had
a wretchedly poor and ignorant home.
seen a good deal of the seamy side of life but
she wanted something better.
A foster home with good standards,
warm-hearted young
people who took Jane in as a younger sister;
a sympathetic teacher who helped her catch up
in her school work - all contributed to that
something better which Jane needed and wanted.
physically and morally;
Jane is working now and pays her own
board, but we still keep a friendly eye on her
and will, until she is twenty-one.
Jane is only one of the 2244 girls and
