THE EDUCATION BILL IT BLOSSOMS BETTER THIS WAY EDUCATION WORK By courtesy of the Massachusetts Child Labor Committee. I believe every child should have as good an educational ground-work as pos- sible, suited so far as feasible in each case to his especial interests and capabilities. I believe the time has arrived when we can very properly advance the compul- sory school age to fifteen, and I so rec- ommend. The education required after the age of fourteen need not be wholly academic for all pupils. Subject to the approval and supervision of the educational au- thorities, there should be a choice allowed between partly practical and wholly academic work, and this may be secured by applying the half-time principle to the continuation school already established and working so successfully Inaugural Message -Governor Frank G. Allen.
