RULES OF ADMISSION.
Application for Admission to the Primary Course of
the Baron de Hirsch Agricultural and
Industrial School,
To the Primary Course are admitted boys of strong physique,
at least sixteen years of age, weighing not less than one hundred
pounds, measuring from thirty-two to thirty-four inches around the
chest, and five feet two inches in height.
Tuition is free to all regular students. Board and lodging may
be furnished to some of the pupils with the understanding that
these expenses are partly offset by practical work in the departments
of the School. Parents and guardians who are able to contribute
toward the maintenance of their sons or wards will be expected to
do so, according to the arrangements made in each individual case
with the authorities of the institution.
Every candidate must be provided with seasonable clothing for
at least three months, consisting of:
A Sabbath suit.
A working suit.
Two pairs of overalls.
Two pairs of shoes.
Two caps.
Three pairs of underwear.

With the admission of the applicant to the School, his parents
or guardians must sign an agreement giving over the control of the
boy to the administration of the School till his graduation or sus-
pension from the School by the order of the authorities.
All applicants for the Primary Course must pass the second
grade examinations as given in the public schools of Cape May
County, embracing an elementary knowledge of geography and the
history of the United States, arithmetic through fractions, decimals
and denominate numbers. English and writing.
Certificates given by the public schools will be accepted in lieu
of an examination.
Every applicant must be examined by the Medical Advisor in
regard to his general health and strength.
Each applicant is received on probation for six weeks and must
