CHARACTER OF WORK:
Workingmen's institute or so cial work among naval
reserve men and among fishermen or fisher girls, who come to
Stornoway in fishing season.
Ther e are two large rooms and one smalJ one.
One large room is used for carving, drawing, etc., the
other for music, conver sation, reading, draughts or other
amusement, and the small room for bagatelle, except once a
week in the winter time, when it is used for Shor thand, and
bock-keeping classes.
