WORKINGMEN'S COTTAGES
Group of Four-Design No. 372
Skilled workingmen receiving from $15 to $25 a week require a larger and somewhat higher grade
of house than is presented in our designs No. 370 and No. 371, and therefore we have designed this group
of four larger dwellings. Two are entered from the front and two from the ends. The center houses
have six rooms each, and the end ones seven.
The exterior and party walls are of hollow tile construction, covered with portland cement stucco
on the outside, and plaster on the inside. Roofs are of composition slate of pleasing colors. The framing
is substantial. There is little wood work exposed, so that the repainting cost from time to time will be
slight. The stucco when on hollow tile does not shrink or crack off, and is one of the most durable
exteriors for a building. Between the kitchen and dining room is an arrangement for facilitating a quick
disposition and storage of dishes.
