The Town of Roebling is situat ed ten miles be low Trent on
on the New Jersey side of the Delawar e River., It was established
by the John A. Roebling's Sons Co. for the purpose of hous ing the
employees of the ne w wire mills, the site of which nine ye ars ago
was farm lands.
At this time Mar ch 1915) there are five hundred
thirty-one (531) residences, a general st or e, a buil1d ing conta ining
a modern bakery, drug store, auditorium and offices, a stable, garage
and hotel1.

All buildings are of brick with concrete foun dations.
Hou ses renting the lo west are in rows of six to twelve, others are
built in pairs. Al11 lots are 100 ft deep and each house of the twin
type has a yard 30 ft. wide.
Pwo streets are I00 ft. wide, while all others are 80 ft.
wide. All streets are of macadam, curbed with grass plots and trees
on the si des, and the I00 ft. streets have grass plots in the centre.
Bordering the river front, 40 ft. above the river level,
and extending the entire length of the town, is a public park with
