This plan may be fairly called
the conventional plan of the
country for what Lincoln called
the "common people," as it seems
to satisfy the average seeker for
this class of house better than
any other, if we are to judge
from the countless numbers of
them put up all over the country.
It has little to recommend it from
the view point of economy of
arrangement or comfortable liv-
ing qualities. A reference to the
table will show that while this is
doubtless the typical American
plan, yet it has the lowest per-
centage of living space efficiency.
